Bulimia or bulimia nervosa is an eating and psychological disorder characterised by the adoption of behaviours in which the individual moves away from healthy ways of eating, overeating in very short periods of time, followed by a period of regret, which may lead the individual to expel excess food through vomiting or laxatives.

Eating disorders are medical conditions. They are not a lifestyle. They affect the body's ability to get adequate nutrition. This can lead to health problems such as heart and kidney disease, or even death. However, there are treatments that can help.
