Ideas for children's school snacks

It is very important to get children used to not always eating the same foods, but above all to offer them good ones alternatives to packaged snacks, when they attend the school: first of all for health reasons (obesity among children is growing worryingly), but also because it is necessary to provide them with the right energy for studying.
Here are some ideas to vary the snack:

Dried Fruit: Raisins, almonds, cashews, walnuts and hazelnuts, unsalted peanuts are perfect to put in a small airtight container even if we are in a hurry. In this case it is good not to overdo the quantities: 30-40gr of dried fruit is enough. It is also very important to check with your pediatrician that they are not there allergies to these foods

Dehydrated fruit: Bananas and apples, mangoes and papaya, coconut, figs, apricots, dates, possibly without too many added sugars. Again, no more than 2-3 pieces of medium-sized fruit

Fresh fruit: For a snack, closed in an airtight container, they are fine chopped apples, bananas, pears, grapes, blueberries, plums... Better to offer them already peeled, cut into small pieces and without seeds, so it will be easier to eat them and above all there will be no scraps to put in the folder. The bananas for example, as several studies have shown, they are among the favorite fruits of children aged between 0 and 6 years, because they are comfortable, seedless, easy to chew and have a shape they can recognize. There banana it is also rich in potassium and fiber, and is a source of vitamins B6, an excellent ally for a good mood. In addition, a banana of medium proportions (125 grams) provides only 110 calories and contains no fat, cholesterol or sodium.

Sandwiches and sandwiches: If you have a bread machine, everything is simpler: if we prepare special breads (for example with olives, or with dried tomatoes, or with cheeses ...), then we can simply offer two slices of bread for a snack. Otherwise we can prepare some classic sandwiches. You can use soft sandwich bread, oil sandwiches or the classic grandfather's milk sandwiches. Prefer simple fillings: nutella or jam (without exaggerating), cooked ham and unsalted cheese, mozzarella and cooked ham, oven-cooked omelette (so it is not greasy), grilled zucchini and mozzarella (to prevent the mozzarella from making water, let it drain on kitchen paper before using it). And then the inevitable toast, with cooked ham and cheese.

Salty snacks: The pieces of Parmesan cheese are perfect to put in the airtight container, together with various types of crackers: wholemeal, with olive oil, with sesame seeds (watch out for allergies!), Or with breadsticks. And then there are the savory (and sweet) muffins: with zucchini, carrots, raisins, apple and cinnamon ...

Sweet snacks: In addition to our homemade jam tarts, we can prepare soft sponge cakes, a donut, a carrot cake, or a yogurt plum cake ...
